kingrino1, I really don't agree with your interpretation, purely because I know someone just like the person I think Bernard is singing about. This particular person is a 'songbird', he
s a musician. He writes all these 'woe is me' songs about his loneliness ("how many times can you describe your living hell?"), but he doesn't let anyone in to love him or help him ("if you'd let somebody love you just enough..."). Instead of letting go of his pride and showing vulnerability, he continues to hide behind his wall and thus continues to be miserable. |

Obadiah Parker are so unappreciated/underplayed. This song is brilliant - the lyrics, the instrumentation, his voice. The rest of the EP is pretty f'ing fantastic, too. |
