| The line, "I love you underneath the moon" reminded me of a children's song I heard when I was a kid by Sharon, Lois & Bram- that one Skinnamarinkey song or what'cha call it. It kinda put the song into a childish setting in my mind. But over all, I do agree with bdolls. Its about leaving, possibly growing up and promising you'll come back- even though you're not sure if you will be able to. I sure can relate to this now. | |

Not only dose Patrick sing it perfectly, but it connects with me. My love, he is quite the masochist, and he always likes to experiment to see how much he can take before he breaks. He is haunted, to say, by past emotional abuse and some scary situations. He can't forget them. Sometimes, I find I'm the only one who can calm him enough to prevent him from hurting himself. When I hear this song, I think of him. |

As happy and peppy as this song sounds, I always found a bit of a darker part in these lyrics. "Depression, please cut to the chase and cut a long story short Oh, please be done how much longer can this drama afford to run? Fate looks sharp severs all my ties And breaks whatever doesn't bend But sadly then, all my heavy hopes just pull me back down again" "Cut a long story short" sounds like suicide- cutting a naturally long life short "How much longer can this drama afford to run?" hard times in life always seem to last a long time "Fate looks sharp/whatever doesn't bend" meaning that life sometimes dries us away from loved ones "all my hopes just pull me back down again" meaning that hopes have been smashed several times To me, this song is about being depressed and possibly as low as you can go- but you still have the optimism to expect a "light at the end of the tunnel", meaning that soon you'll be out of this tunnel of depression and thrown into the light of being okay. It's an "everything is going to be alright, in time" kind of song, and I'm glad he wrote something like this. ♥ |

| I'm glad people can relate this song to their religion, but for me- I never actually thought of it as a song written expressing the love towards a god. It sounds too sweet for that. Agreeing with pedialyte73, I too have always thought of this song being about a lover. Like, he has finally realised that no matter what, his love will always be there for him and that he really needs her in his life. That's just my interpretation of this short song though. ♥ | |
