I realise you posted this ages ago, but I thought it was still worth a reply. I think that the line "Pray God you can cope" is the Husband/Man's thoughts and someone (quite possibly the Wife) is putting a voice to his emotion, "You pray to God you can cope". Everything else I would agree with. My interpretation of the end to the video is that the Wife has made it and the Husband is showing great relief. He can now show his love and get his second chance to make everything count. Of course, these are just my views. Very insightful summary on your behalf. Thank you. |

cnelson15 is right about abortion. I'm not entirely sure about the "denied" part, but the "man from the motor trade" is not a client, it was a term for back-street abortionists. My drama teacher in year 11 gave us this song to study and use as stimulus for a devised piece and he knew his stuff about the Beatles. So yes, I'd definitely say this song is about abortion and a girl being denied what she truly needs to live and be happy. |
