Emery – Butcher's Mouth Lyrics

you're the reason why women were once trapped in a kitchen. not enough brains.
also, how many women does it take to screw in a light bulb?
answer: one if she knows what's good for her.
(written by a girl who understands that yes, all women are cunts, and maybe if we didn't act like it, this song wouldn't have been written.) |

i've been trying to figure it out forever, but i think he says something like "oh but lord you try..." then goes on for a second and then says something like "here we lie..."
totally just a guess. |

god isn't on my mind either, but if you put a little thought into it, thats what comes up. it's not exactly rocket science. and as you said, it's whatever we want it to be. in my mind, it fits best the way i wrote it. if you don't like someone's interpretation, maybe you shouldn't be on a site called SONG MEANINGS. shit. |

i kinda understand where rebelyellow is coming from. i guess i kinda feel like it is some sort of relationship, but its not really developed because he seems kind of lost. like, "I didnt come to put your fire out, i don't fear your flames." to me, i think of, he's kind of naive about who he is dealing with or what situation he is getting into. and with the calling out, its like he finally caught on or is finally figuring out that this person isn't everything he thought they were, but then they go back and forth...maybe a love/hate situation? idk. haha. |

i think you're right, but this is pretty much what i got:
the half human half machine part is religion. its half human in the fact that sometimes you feel it really intimate connection it, other times its just given to you, flat out with no relation, or is just put in cold context in a way that you can't relate (sort of publicized consistently, and we are told what to believe) in very mechanical way. then theres this feeling in the song that he is consistently fighting with the half and half feelings he's having, and the "ties to mend" are issues that he can't clearly define as being a part of religion but can't ignore, such as evolution. also, the part where he says "looking through the lens," i feel like thats almost him examining religion and trying to understand, but still going around and around with the whole idea of it.
thats just my interpretation. |

for some i just imagine this:
I hear 'em callin you out....
I'm here, I'm callin you out...
obviously with the rest of the words. idk that its really that clear, but i could be totally wrong. |
