| Vaux – RAID! Lyrics | 15 years ago |

The obvious meaning is the main character is involved in some sort of illegal trafficking or stealing operation. Someone (probably his friend) found out and will be implicated but doesn't want to be, so they're in a high speed chase to get away from the cops. The singer's not gonna go down without a fight. I was trying to extract a deeper meaning, perhaps with relationships "you found out" "see how it goes down when their alarms sound" "you're a part of this" etc, but I'm not finding it. Wish I could hear this song somewhere, youtube doesn't seem to have it. It's too bad these guys broke up, they had some good songs. |

| After three albums this is still my favorite song. The emotion in the the last two lines I love so much. | |

I think that it's about this guy who loves this girl but she's probably not the most stable person. She's probably hypocritical, indecisive, changing her mind, etc, and projects it on to him getting mad at him for times when she acts crazy. So he finds another girl who's more mature, but he still wants that first girl and every time she changes her mind back, he's right back with her. I'm just not quite sure how the second verse ties into this (maybe a viewpoint from their friends?) also, the "and with you I am not content" line must mean he wants her crazyness to stop so they can be together rather than off and on all the time. |

This is easy, the singer feels his life is more fortunate/better than the common vagrants he runs into along the streets and he's thankful for it. It's a fucking awesome song and one of my favorites by them |

I agree with paramedico on the christian lyrics... however I'm not sure if Saosin is christian so if they weren't that wouldn't make much sense. But it does seem to be speaking about atheism vs religion (particularly christianity if the bible reference is correct) Such that we feel it is better in an atheistic lifestyle because there are fewer restrictions, more pleasures of the body, and perhaps people are forgetting the pleasures of the mind > the gifts of God or other such religious happiness. hence "can we save ourselves from the ones we're becoming" (which doesn't really fit with anthony vs cove... thefallingline) and "it's so much better there" Then I also agree with zigen on the one night stand, though "this won't mean anything tonight" could represent any sort of sin or deviance from a particular religion. If there's no restriction on it then there's no need to worry and so act on impulse. Not sure if religion is the correct interpretation but it certainly seems to fit well. |

| Saosin – Bury Your Head Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Track 18 of Atticus: Dragging the Lake Vol. 3 is the version of Bury Your Head where the end of the verses use "I haven't said it's ok" This version also uses the "iron thing / ion vein / w/ethefuckhesays" so the meaning sounds more like some guy talking to his drug addict friend, however the version with "I will then say it's ok" and "your eyes have changed" makes it sound like a boyfriend talking to his unfaithful girlfriend. Really though it seems like with both versions and all the mixes in between, one can never relate every lyric to either particular meaning. For instance: the unfaithful girlfriend works almost perfectly for the first verse, then the prechorus, and relatively for the chorus... except the end which fits perfectly again. The second verse is kind of iffy too. "has the child smashed you down?" is quite a stretch. I like "the psalms will never call me again", it fits, but the end of the verse doesn't seem to order well with it. It seems like the second verse is 'I was in love but because of you now I'm not' and that ending seems to be at that part where he's still on the brink of being in love / realizing she's more distant now, which doesn't fit the second verse. As for the bridge, I can't really relate it to unfaithful girlfriend. Anyway, I've also heard the "I haven't said it's ok" lyrics in some live videos from YouTube |
