i think its simply him reminsing about a girl he loved/ loves, and he goes in and out of thoughts of happy times and then back to his sad present: salty leave-- a bad leave, a sad leave, relationship ended on bad terms. then, he goes on talking about some good times they had, "tell me the one about the friend you knew and the last good night that we toasted too"-- hes just thinking about random good times and talks with her. "we drank wine in the matinee and spot light showed what i chased away"-- they drank wine at the moovies once, and it was a romanitc one so the spotlight was showing the love and romance he chased away. "stay for me"-- she left him, for something he feels is his fault "...she has problems with drinking milk and being school tardy..."-- hes just describing her antics and the little things she is and does.. thats why hes so in love with her. "i called and called and coudnt get through, said he's on his own but his own is you"--- i guess she left him for another guy. probably someone close to him that treated her better i mean, thats how i interpret it :) |

Crimson and Clover is about a guy and a girl who just met "i dont hardly know her, but i think i can lover her".. so i think that KOL means it because maybe the girl hes losing his virginity too is a someone they just met too. also "the overtime" part is probably a song thats playing on repeat in the background while they're going at it. great song! |

this song is beautiful and somber at the same time. it's my favorite song by AHJ its pretty obvious its about an old love that is hard to let go of maybe he still loves her? |
