I was driving home my best friend, wearing a Wilco shirt actually... We had just spent the day together and I proclaimed my human feelings for him. He's moving to Chicago this Saturday. And this song came on the radio right before we pulled in to his driveway. I will forever appreciate Wilco for that. |

This is my favourite song so far, listening. I agree with somekindofprowess, being about a failed relationship due to some kind of abuse. I think she feels like she has some attachment to the situation still, maybe. Wonders what he feels, wants to make excuses and believe he tried and maybe still feels. I'm going through something similar, so it's a very appealing song to me. Nonetheless, great song. |
