this song is NOT about slavery. I have to agree with everyone who thinks it an inside strugle with addiction. just read the lyrics. its too easy. maybe not on board with killing family idea, but as a metallica fan of 20 years, its well known they have all dealt with addictions that lead to the ending of friendships and so on. my favorite. many of metallica's songs are a big metaphor. but betting my money that slavery had nothing to do with the influance of this one. |

didn't know about this song's meaning till i read an interview in like 1995. i went to see dl right after vivian chambell joined in 93 i think. means alot now that i'm older. tesla's song and emotion is also dedictaed to s.c. to dpatterson i hope you would agree with a fello axe mate that s.c. could have changed rock music to everyone. he did to me in just a few years. best solos since gilmore.

good song. actually a b side to a hysteria single. can't remember which one. too old. could have taken the place of one of the last few songs on hysteria. i liked them all but this song didn't make the cut for some reason. |
