| I first heard this song on the oc which influenced my interpretation of it. they play it at the season one finale when ryan is leaving to go back to Chino and take care of thersea and the baby and Seth decides to sail away because he's loosing his best friend and the life he's come to know while Marissa is foced to move in with the mother she hates and the stepfather her mom married for money and seeing her true love leave her behind goes into a depression and heads straight back to alchol. So this song seems to me with the context it was played in that its talking about life and love and how it can be oh so amazing and also painful. It's a beautiful song and it reminds me to never take anything forgranted. | |

| Okay, first of all The Oc is my favortie showever and if you actually took time to watch it (which you probably havent) then you shouldnt comment it.And Second WHY THE HECK WOULD U NOT WANT THE MUSIC RECONGIZED!?!?!?!!? isnt the whole point of an artist creating a song about them sharing it and people hearing it? And the song happened to fit perfectly with the scene it was playe din, maybe if you would give the show a chance and had watched the scene you would've unterstood. And This is not a plac to argu about how a tv show "ruined a song" (Which is impossible) itstodescirbe what this songmeans to you. I think Its a beautiful song describinghowamazingyouth is and how we shouldnt waste it because it only lasts for so long. And also no one's opinion can be wrong because just because to the artists it means something about war it might mean somethingelseto someone different. Its just the way you interpret it. | |
