James Vincent McMorrow – We Don't Eat Lyrics

I'm surprised no one else has commented on this song yet. I think it's just awesome. To me, it's about someone whose been searching for faith in God throughout their life and then goes on to talk about humanity searching for the last 2000 years for God. I think the statements about "We don't eat until your father's at the table, We don't drink until the devil's turned to dust" is about doing things with faith/trust even though we don't entirely understand it. Anyone else have ideas about this song?

I really don’t want to try and explain it; it’s more fun for me to have other people try to figure it out.

Joshua James – Ribbon Bows Lyrics

From this, I get that Joshua was in love with one of his friends' sisters and he did something too drastic, too emotional for his own good. Maybe he broke into their home to see her..? (bad example) Whatever it was, it made the mother very upset. Maybe the daughter was on the cover of playboy..? Eventually what happens is Joshua loses her to another man and later she will regret it because she'll have no more love to give. She should have just stayed with Joshua.

This song really hits home. When I found out my mom had cancer, 'nobody talked' either. These lyrics just capture the moment so beautifully. I love the line 'synthetic hair in your eyes'.

This song really captures for me how it feels to love someone but still want to live the life you have, just not necessarily 'with' them. The way he constantly asks 'do you?' shows that he still cares what she thinks, but just doesn't 'want to settle down'. I absolutely love the last verse, 'I'd like nothing more than this'. Beautiful.
