ooo! another parallel with the movie Black Swan is the part that says "I watched a change in you...now you feel so alive" in the movie/play, the main character (the white swan) finds "true life and freedom" only when she "kills herself" (i.e. innocence dies) in the song, it's like the girl "feels alive" only now that her innocence was raped and destroyed again...twisted, but...seems to reflect some unfortunate realities of ppl's lives |

i think we have similar but slightly different interpretations...but then again, i just watched Black Swan (disturbingly great movie!) last nite, so that might have something to do with that :P the part that hit me the most was "pulled off your wings and i laughed"...just reminds me of those kids who are sorta just curious or cruel to insects when they find them...they catch them and they'll just pull off a leg and a wing just to see what it does...and they don't give a second though to how painful it would be for the poor creature that's literally having limbs torn off...and while doing so, the kid is entertained and laughing, while the fly is squirming for its own life how i see it, the dude basically dehumanized the girl and "turned her into a fly" in two senses...first, she was harmless and defenseless, but he pinned her down and took advantage of her (pulled off your wings...also reminds me of angels' wings...i.e. innocence...)...secondly, after all this, as he savagely had his way with her, her innocence was also being raped and marred...she is no longer seen as a human, but turned into a disgusting creature like a fly without basic human rights then he looks at the cross (i.e. the judgment of God) and at this point recognizes his guilt, so he hands her the "gun of judgment" and lets her blow him away, because he realizes his sins and takes what he feels he deserves it's a very dark and twisted look at the lyrics, yes...but the chords and music sounds very twisted and demented as well, so i feel like it was meant to express something so unsettling |

hmmmm interesting...i sorta like holowcheezy's input (assuming it's actually from Maida lol), and it's sorta similar to what i've heard before...but only second hand =P i heard that Naveed is a friend who was so excited to go to university to get away from it all...and the second verse is sorta saying "so you're finally off to university on your own...are you really actually enjoying it there? is it all you made it out to be, or are you struggling to just float among all the chaos?" so i guess i sorta had the general perspective that it had more to do with a personal song to his good friend Naveed and about Naveed's frustrations with his new independent life in university...but all this talk about death in the song sorta seems a bit much for just the "school life" lol so i'm not too sure...? |

hmmmm...goin along with that whole insomnia thing... do you ever remember your dreams? cuz i do sometimes, and sometimes, the developments that are made are SO random...like, i'll be driving along a highway to some place, and on the way, we have to get by some giant ostrich who wants to eat everybody, and then suddenly i'm zapped into disneyland sorta thing...? the verses seem like that to me...where the beginning starts off simple, and then there's a sudden, random twist... V1: ah yes...i'm sleeping on a plane...makes sense, cuz flights are normally long, and i'm bored...but wait, what's that ticking sound? what the...why am i suddenly in water where there are bodies? and i somehow know that there are bodies in a basement...what basement?? V2: la la la...i'm in the ocean, that's nice...ooo look there are ppl floating around me, and they're really funny........i see O_o V3: oooo two guys dukin' it out...but my supersenses are telling me that there's a guy in the middle of the ocean...wait a sec, it's matt good! hey, that's messed up........ i dunno...that's just sorta what i saw... |

"i loved you buried alive" what does that mean? does it mean he preferred the girl dead? perhaps he feels more secure that way so that she doesn't kill him first...? or maybe he's talking about the past that does come up in Jenni every now and then, and he'd prefer that her old self would just stay "dead and buried"? maybe it's just Matt trying to "soothe" the insanity boiling up in her...? "we'll die a while" i.e. "let's keep that old past dead just for a bit, and we can have some good peace...cuz i've seen red (blood? anger?) most of this life already...just throw it behind us, and let it die for a bit" and maybe that's what he means when he asks "were you dead way before tonite?" as in...i was hoping this past would have died a long time ago...weren't you gone already?? apparently not, cuz i'm dealing with an episode right now.... just random thoughts that came together on the fly...not sure if it makes sense...? lol |

| lol i always thought this was just about a creepy stalker.......and so she runs away from him....and he just wants to make her special, but she's far too creeped out by him....so the best he can do is obsess over her from a distance...i think i just get that perspective cuz of the emotional swing from nice and graceful to almost angry that he doesn't suffice...hence the "you're so F***ING special" sorta thing...just my thought i guess =P | |

i know i'm oober late on this one...just started falling in love with my old music again =P in any case...i think that given that this song is called FAMOUS, perhaps he's talking to somebody who became "famous" and ditched their friendship for the glitter and fame that the person pursued (friendship or girlfriend...take your pick) so the overall message is just "so you thought that ditching our times together was worth all the 'good' you get from being famous...i don't even know you anymore, and i'm not caring anymore either...i give up on you because i know you just can't find your way to get out of this whole cycle" |
