While I can agree with the central message of this song it still does not make up for these juvenile and attrocious lyrics. But after all this band is pandering to the lowest common denominator. The lack of depth and creativity in the lyrics is parraleled by the poor (or absence of) songwriting. And no playing the same chug riffs broken up intermediately by pointless breakdowns does not constitute songwriting. This however is the template for the entire cd this song belongs to. I firmly believe that all members and fans of this band should remain silent and/or commit suicide. (Or at least support real death metal and stop giving support to latecomers and trendies who deserve none) |

Didn't you say Jesus was coming? What a perfect statement to start out this refeshingly non-satanic critique of the christian virus. Immolation take a more logical nihilistic stance on the matter of this insipid religeon and the sheep who make up its congregation. They correctly recognize that the reason people flock to christianity (and all religeon) is not because of some overwhelming logical truth but instead because they yearn for acceptance and like most people are too neurotic and weak to face themselves and deal with there inner problems. So they come together because while individually they may be weak but as a collective they are strong. To compensate for there sins they create a force of evil, satan, and blame him for there inner primal urges. They cannot find equality in this world so they construct one in which it is everpresent, heaven, and upon the pillars of guilt and pity build there beliefs. After all if we are all equal and our actions are inebitibly judged than there glaring inadequecies are made null by virtue of our immenant judgement. |

It's songs and lyrics such as these that make cattle decapitation a beacon of hope in a darkening genre. Check out The Harvest Floor as it is one of the best death/grindcore albums of the year. Im am new on this site and I decided to post on this song for no specific reason other than it hat the most comments. And very hilarious ones I might add I only wish that I would have found this when the actual arguement was going on as I doubt Darkkunto is around today seeing as he was probably hit by a bus or simply forgot to breathe. I swear there must be a town with water flowing through lead pipes where all these idiots come from. But I disgress, I thought I would speak my peace not specificaly about this song but this band in general. Truth be told I find much of cannibal corpse's music to be enjoyable. I also must say that it is nothing that hasn't been done before and better. I would much rather listen to incantation. I also for some reason prefer the vocals of chris barnes over corpsegrinder (although I despise six feet under). |
