| There's not a lot to interpret here - it's a siren luring a sailor to his death with her song. Classic mythology. | |
| Inkubus Sukkubus – Soul Inside Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Someone who feels alone and depressed finds solace in a ghost/spirit/astral traveler/something not of this world, but they can't fully love someone without a physical body. At the end they make note that even if it means dying, all they want is to be able to touch their lover. | |

I only just discovered Inkubus Sukkubus, but so far this is my favourite song. It's so hypnotizing and calming. I can't help but listen to it over and over. The lyrics are pretty straightforward - they describe the Triple Goddess (Maiden, Mother, and Crone) entwined with lunar symbolism. |

Perfectly said. In addition, though, I think when it says "one MORE casualty", it sounds like she's been through this before. And this verse: And I've been playing games And now I've change my ways The character I always played Helped me to forget my name But now I know, So get out of my way! It sounds like she's putting whoever she's dating ahead of herself, at the expense of being true to herself or taking care of herself at all. But now she's tired of it, and has probably realized that it's not healthy. Of course, I could be seeing that interpretation because of my own personal experiences...Anyone else have input on that verse? |
