these lyrics are terribly incorrect.... Do you know I could never leave you And I know i could never beat you And I find, i can never FIGHT you Never mind, I will not forget you Can I stay alive forever? Can I stay alive forever? Can I stay alive forever? Forever Can I feel a chemical reaction Cause I found a hideous attraction Can we share a poison apple CAN IT BE MANACLE AND AWFUL Can I stay alive forever? Can I stay alive forever? Can I stay alive forever? Forever Forever Stay alive forever Forever Stay alive forever Stay alive forever... The song meaning seems pretty obvious. its a love song. by saying "can i stay alive forever" shows that when the writer is with this person they feel alive and they don't want that feeling to ever die. References to snow white (If my Disney films aren't mixed up) "Can we share a poison apple" death is supposed to be for eternity so if they die together they can be in love forever and contradictorily "alive" together. A beautiful song with a more beautiful meaning. |

| All That Remains – I Die in Degrees Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The song meaning to me is about... Regret and looking back upon something and wondering if it could ever be different. "Shall I relinquish my integrity thereby ensuring that I'll remain unclean" It makes a lot of sense when i think about it this way. I also think a lot of pride ends up getting in the way of wanting to change the things that have happened. "I didn't want it this way but I've never wanted to stay" Wanting to change something without changing the path i follow, for if i deteriorate i will not be following the path i chose. It makes sense when you look at the rest of the album. I think Phil was mentioning problems about his Christianity and his faith. |
