My chem teacher sang some of this in class,and we were talking about our interpretations of the song. I see it as he's in love with a girl,and it's either he has her or no one can. As much as I love this song, it's one of the most painful things for me to listen to. It's so sad, but it's also beautiful. I think it's because after hearing the alleged backstory, about the fan who commited suicide, it's just been the only song that I felt could understand the pain I have felt for what feels like forever;even though it has only been a month or two. It makes me think about my friend who almost took her life.And how I would have to live with the painful reminder that she is gone and it was something I could have prevented, but I did nothing to stop it from happening. Then, having to live with the constant reminder that I will always end up getting hurt every day; and how the most painful memories that we possess are the ones we wish we could just forget, will never go away. But that's just me and how I protray it from an almost real life experience. |

I never understood the song at first,but now that I came across the lyrics,they touch me more.I see the song being about someone who loves someone,but finds that it was all a lie and how they we're being decieved the whole time. This was my first Within Temptation song,and it speaks for me,since this is how I felt after my last relationship;but I couldn't find the words to express what I felt.This is an interesting song for breakups. |
