I agree with all of the above interpretations of this fabulous song, except for the following lines: "I gave up long ago Painting love with crimson flow Ran out of blood and hope So I paint you no more" I must say I'm not sure how to interpret it now that I've read your comments on these verses, but my original thought was that he went through hell and pain in love ("painting love with crimson flow"), but now he doesn't have the strength or will to continue with that pointless suffering (he "ran out of blood"), so he gives up ("so I paint you no more"). Mind you, this is MY interpretation of the lines, which might as well be wrong, so if anyone is sure about their meaning, please tell us :) |

| what I absolutely adore about him lyrics is that I can always find my own interpretation of them and thus relate to his songs. | |
| HIM – Cyanide Sun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| maybe "cyanide sun" stands for the unbearable life he lives now that they've broken up or something like that. sun is the essential of life, so it might as well represent life itself; cyanide is lethal, so the sun being "cyanide" might mean that it "kills" him, it's painful to live this life or whatever. i see it that way | |
