"Oh yeah pressure drop a drop on you I say when it drops, oh you gonna feel it Know that you were doing wrong" You're angry. You should chill. You're going to calm down eventually, and when you do you're going to regret your behavior. |

| I've always thought this song was about anger. Someone is angry and they're saying, "Hey, calm down. You're running hot right now, and when cool off you might regret your behaviour." | |
| Dio – Holy Diver Lyrics | 6 years ago |

My personal theory based on no source whatsoever except my own imagination: Dio was stoned out of his tree when he wrote this. Someone said to him, "Ronnie, this doesn't make any fucking sense!" He says, "Yeah..." and takes another toke. "Fuck it, I'm keeping it! and I'm gonna troll 'em on it too..." then starts singing, "Oh, don't you see what I mean!" And that's why he's eternal. |

I've heard this described as a love song (taking a risk and not having it pay off) but sounds much more like a straight forward gambling addiction message. Someone gets into it thinking they're going to get rich, they have a fool proof system to beat the house, they have luck on their side, etc. Eventually his luck runs out and he loses everything. Probably my favourite DHC song. Brilliantly written lyrics, Elyse and Karina's trademark dueling vocals, and fantastically composed music. Fast paced and ska-infused, which is what they do best. |

Just because someone does a song with a ska feel/beat doesn't make it a No Doubt ripoff. There were plenty of bands that explored this genre before them. At first I thought this was a typical love/breakup song, with the drugs being a metaphor for feelings of love/lust. 'the drugs don't work no more' I thought was her way of saying she's over the guy but going through withdrawal. But the last lines (he's back again, brought a friend, brought a whole dark army) have swayed me over to the mental illness line of thinking. The very fast vocals in parts of this song almost feel like she's describing a bipolar manic episode, perhaps brought on by development of a resistance to medication. Awesome music as well as lyrics. |
