This is, hands down, my favorite song. Ever. I can really sympathize with it, as if everyone around you seems to be drawn into a plastic, mundane and conformist world where true heart is readily discarded. There are still many heroes out there, not only in music but in all of our society, and I this song makes me think of them. |

As much as I liked this one when it came out, I think the "Open all night" in the "100,000,000 Fans..." ("So you packed you bags...") is way better and more meaningful to me, since I also had to leave a relationship so that both of us could grow as we wished. Overall, I know 4 songs with the open arms theme in their title, but the box set version is the best one for me. |

This is, I believe, the only song I prefer in the This Left Feels Right version rather than its original. Somehow, the metaphor of the sun breaking through the clouds (as in Any other Day) always makes me think that there's always hope. |

| One of the things Bon Jovi is my favorite band is their "hope" songs like this, when you can actually feel like the world is going somewhere and we humans are not all that bad. If you can see the sun shine at least every other day, then there's a reason to go on. | |
