| He Is Legend – Everyone I Know Has Fangs Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This song might be a reference to the book "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson. Obviously the band gets their name from his novel, but the plot revolves around the main character knowing that everyone he knew is now a vampire. The hero boards himself in his house (Now that I've boarded up my door/ And I'm laying on the floor) and has to listen to the siren calls of his now-transformed neighbor (No I don't need no other friend/ So I will not let you in). Yup. |

Now this may be hard for some of you to believe, but check it out: This song is about a transcendental hallucinatory experience, likely onset from Psilocybe Mushrooms. I know for a fact, firsthand, that Anthony has taken shrooms and tripped before. A great deal of what many perceive to be Christian/New Testament imagery is derived from experiences under the influence of mushrooms. These substances induce religious, Holy experiences, and one truly gets back in touch with the universe. The references are evident in many lyrics across this album. A church (holy experience) being revealed, time beginning to dilate and patterns emerging. And then changing your viewpoint on life. The most telling line is "And no one was like this/ til you came along / and reset our dials all wrong". Human minds did not possess the faculty for this connection with God until the mushroom began to heavily influence spiratual lives (which actually happened during the time we believe Jesus of Nazareth to have lived. See: Works of John Allegro) If you don't believe me, its okay. Secure yourself 3.5 grams of dried psilocybin mushrooms, and take your best friend to the most secluded and natural environment outside of your city or town. Set aside 8 hours and take precaution. Ingest the fungus and transcend your ego to be with Christ. Love |
