I find the video funny because I really don't think it has everything to do with the song but the fact that the band tries to kill the singer is mainly because everyone in the band strongly dislikes each other. Aaron, the singer, wrote a book about it actually. |

Got to love Project, they are such great lyricists. HM magazine voted them as having the best deepest lyrics of all the christian labeled bands a while ago. right behind them was mewithoutYou ;) But i honestly love hearing songs like this because it reminds me that being a christian is not confined to singing hymns and acting a certain way, you can express your emotion in so many awesome ways. |

Listening to the song, what deephunter posted seems right. It sounds like a straight-out political satire again extreme environmentalists. I guess chevelle can get a little deep, and no doubt one of my favorite bands of all time, but lyrically, they have never been strong. After mentioning "panther piss" on there last album I realized that they are the type of band where their really tight structure and really cool, yet simple, riffs carry the band. not saying the lyrics have nothing to do with them, but they are no lyrical genius'. But again, one of my favorite bands ever and always will be. |

Personally, I think the time bomb is Dave maybe saying that its about time he showed his christian side more. After writing Christmas Song, it is hard to say that he is not a Christian in some way or at least believe in God/Jesus. Maybe he is double thinking what he believes, but who doesn't do that? Perhaps when he says "Hammer in the final nail and lean me up against Jesus" is his way of saying he is a sinner too and want to be forgiven. Perhaps, in a rather right out way, he is comparing himself to Jesus in saying that he is extremely influential too and now knows how hard it is to show what he believes because of so much controversy over every line he writes. Just my opinion though =) |
