Aesop Rock – Drawbridge (feat. Doseone) Lyrics 16 years ago
man.. most aesop songs i understand but i have read these lyrics and listened to this song so many times but i really cant find any overall meaning. theres some lines that suggest aesops appreciation for people that quietly stray from the norm but i dunno its soooo complex

its about cooperations but i can see how someone would think it was stealing as teen. but its your own subjective meaning that makes the song great! peace

Aesop Rock – Getaway Car (feat. Cage & Breeze Brewin) Lyrics 16 years ago
yea pretty sick song. definately agree about the name and the metaphor and everything. aesop seems to often make the titles of his tracks metaphors for what the song is about.. cheers to the subjective medium of music!!

Aesop Rock – Catacomb Kids Lyrics 16 years ago
Reign of the razor laser,
Day of the cloudy howdy,
Flight of the shelter melter,
You can bow without me.

Anybody have an idea what these lines mean? if im right saying the songs about high school and when he was younger i thought maybe "reign of the razor laser" is about the principal basically or the man in charge of his school and "you can bow without me" aesop is basically saying that the rest of students can go ahead and attend school without him.

anybody have any ideas?

Aesop Rock – No Regrets Lyrics 16 years ago
yea this is exactly what i was thinking. i think aesop told the story because it directly relates his own life but at the same time lucy eventually dies so maybe aesop is hoping to be at that point when gets older.

Also it seems like Lucy is actually happy but also convincing herself that she is happy but the fact that she has to convince herself that shes happy doing what she wants to do says something about the way our current society is. society today makes you feel like your doing the wrong thing if you dont follow the norm.
