I think this song relates to drug use with a partner. Love on drugs. I, for something I am not proud, was an occasional cocaine user and the feelings Guy describes are spot on: Drinking in the morning sun, blinking in the morning sun, shaking off a heavy one, heavy like a loaded gun!
