To me this song is about a boy who has suddenly found himself in love with two people at once, but he wasn't looking to fall in love with a second person- it just happened. He knows the first person loves him, but his 'second love' is bigger than his first. He hopes that the 'second love' disappears so that things can go back to being how they were. His two loves are filling him with conflict (and maybe guilt) and he feels torn. Maybe he doesn't want to leave his 'first love' because he doesn't want things to change and he loves her in one way, but he feels like he is lying because the 'second love' is bigger and is pulling him in the opposite direction to his 'first love'. |
