First off I'd like to say that I <3 A Rocket to the Moon & this song. Both seriously amazing. I know how music videos and songs are 98% of the time totally diff, but in this case, I think it somewhat-sorta matches. You know the whole idea of Blue couples and Red couples? Red couples dont have chemistry but blue couples have perfect chemistry. Did anyone notice how the girl with the curly hair was always wearing red with her boyfriend and they seemed to not get along much? But the girl with the dark hair had that blue streak and she and her boyfriend were perfect together. The lanterns where ARTTM was playing were red and blue. I don't know, just somethin' to think. But so far as meanings of the song, I think its easily summed up with: A guy is totally in love with this girl, and he knows she loves him too, but he's always doubting that maybe she'll find someone better than him or maybe he isn't Mr. Right, if you get my drift. Totally beautiful song. So sweet <3 |

wow. is it just me or does this song sound a bit country??? i <3 this song with the country bit. Anyway, I think this song is sorta easy to find the meaning of (this is not a smack for those who havent, BTW). This girl is in love with her guy friend that (in my interpretation) only sees her in jeans or not dressed up, at least. hmm. I prefer Riot!, their second album. The music was a lot more raw and real and it had a lot of hits. That's What You Get, Decoy and For A Pessimist are my fave songs off Riot!, and Misery Business if pretty asweome too, like When It Rains. But from the first two singles, I don't really see anything that's making me want to listen over and over, like the Riot! songs. But it's only the first two, right? I have the rest of the album to listen to. But still. You'd think that they'd pick better songs for singles. I'm hoping that going Mainstream doesn't make them lose their edge, because I've loved Paramore for years now. Well. I'm gonna hope for the best. :D |

I love this song. I have OLP's albums, and the music video is so cool. I think the girl who stars in the new version of 90210 is in it. It's cool. To me, this song means that the guy had fallen in love with this girl, and she split him up, made him who he is. She saved his life, and he owes her so much. He loves her and is giving her is heart. I love the lyrics. So genius. It's cool, too, how they're poetic, sorta. this song is so amazing. It's my ringtone!!!!! Anyway, I think it's not so much about civilization coming down as much as everyone else thinks. To me, it's more so about the girl he's singing about. He's saying "you can sit beside me when the world comes down" in the sense that, he loves her so much, that if the world ended right there and then, he'd want her to be with him at that one moment that it collapses. But "if it doesn't matter the just turn around" relates to how if she doesn't care about those kidn of things, like if the world were to die that second, she would'nt give a shit about who she sat next to, he's telling her that she can turn around and go find someone who doesn't care liek she does. He wants someone to sit beside and love him back, so much that they'll sit together when the world comes down. And he's saying that all he truly needs is her next to him and everythign will be okay, even if the world is dying. He says "you'll be my queen, ill be your clown" (or something like that) in the sense that he'll treat her right, he'll make her laugh and have fun, he just wants her to stay. THis song is pure genius. Damn straight. I think it's two points of view of an arguement. Like, the girl is heartbroken, and the guy is trying to apologize to her, but she's not accepting. She's angry and they're remembering when they were in love and everythign was okay... until the guy scrweed it up and she's telling him that she's "doesn't care" when he' saying that he's sorry. And he tells her that all he wants is her and he'll never want anyone else. She feels the same, but is so pissed off at him for doign wahtever he did. The first part I think is about when they were younger and things were so much easier, but now that they're odler, so many more problems are showing up, so the guy is like "what can I do" and she's begging him by saying "Say it's true" which confuses me, unless he cheated or soemthing. So she's begging him to know if what she'es heard is true. And they're both screaming at each other so that they can see the other's point of view. EIther way, it's a simply genius song. I've read all the other meaning things here, and I've got something a little different. I was surprised when I read them all. I LOVE THIS SONG! So awesome! I think it's about a girl who loves this guy but there are so many faults in each other, and she's picking on them and he's pickign on hers, too. But she loves him so much, and even through ALL of his faults, she loves him, even though she knows she shouldn't and that she should forget about their relationship. But she can't. She loves him too much for her own good. I lvoe the phrasing "fingertips are holding onto, the cracks in our foundation". It's such a beautfiul way of phrasing everything that's this: she's trying to hold onto them with all ten fingers but they're slipping, and she grips on tighter, when though she really knows she should let go, because she loves him. To me, this song could be both Edward to Bella, and Bella to Jacob. For the Edward to Bella part it's how he thinks of her in the beginning, when he's fighting to hate her, but can't (remember Confessions, chapter 13? Yeah, pay attention much.) Because he loves her, inside, buts fighting so hard, and is just so freaking stubborn (read: New Moon) He argues so much with himself that he thinks that in his heart that "it's not her" and that "she isn't the one" but in truth, she's the one (read: Breaking Dawn). Also, in New Moon, he could be also trying to convince himself when he leaves Bells alone in Forks. Like, he's telling himself "it's not her", possibly thinking about how could it be, if she's human and he's not. Also, the chorus is like "when I caught myself, I had to stop myself", which could be a metaphor to how when it finally clicked that he was leaving her, he had to stop himself... but obviously, he didn't. (Note: when it's like "you're not the one I belive in, with God as my witness, if anyone paid actual attention to the book New Moon, about having a soul and how he's immortally damned and that God doesn't care anymore and stuff. Yeah, remember that part? *click* "Oh, yeah, NOW I REMEMBER!" I'm picturing you all doing that. ;D ) Now, from Bella to Jacob, it's when she's talkign about him, as her sun in the middle of her night. Like he helps her live, helps her stay intact and stuff. In the song, Hayley's like "You got it, you got it Some kind of magic Hypnotic, hypnotic You're leaving me breathless I hate this, I hate this You're not the one I believe in" From B/J it's true, because of how she thinks of him as he leaves her breathless and like he has magic or whatever. ANd when she realizes that he likes her (in that way) and that they're getting closer, she's saying that "When she caught" herself being that clsoe to Jacob, she "Had to stop" herself. Which was when she tried leaving, but would call him a minute later, desperate. There. Ha. Now, I just pointed out all of these things to you all. Oh, and Paramore is the best band EVER! Loved RIOT! and A.W.K.I.F (All We Know Is Falling). Hayley's awesome, and Josh and Zac and Jeremy are hot. Love the lyrics, because they aren't the fluff that people are singing to for no reason (Ahem: "You spin my head, right round, right round, when you go down, when you go down, down". dude! luv the song! So sweet! Yeah, this song is like two parts: We Thing King's Check Yes Juliet and Love Story! Totally! And for anyone who's curious about "scarlet letter" part, it's because in The Scarlet Letter, the main character cheated on a guy, and wore a scarlet (a type of fabric) letter on her shirt to say sorry. Get it? Yeah, you should. And about the Romeo and Juliet thing... may I say that A) the actual play is really boring.
