can't believe I'm taking this from Fox News (i'm sure DMBCWALK loves fox news) cause they are usually so full of it, but this article explains it well. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352241,00.html |

@ DMBCWALK just to clarify... If you knew anything about the cooling over the past 10 years then you would know that it is only because of the seasons of the Sun. There are 2 seasons of the Sun, each which last around 10 years; the seasons are High Sun Spot and Low Sun Spot Activity. This activity is taken into account when studying global climate; and yes, you guessed it, since 1998 we have been in Low Sunspot activity which causes the retina of the Sun cooler than during High Sun Spot Activity. This Low has lasted longer then normal, about 12 years and is expected to change within the next couple years. The activity of sun spots is controlled by the suns magnetic field caused by rotation. So you are correct, the Earth has felt cooler for the past 10 years but if you look at the past 100 years, this 10 year cool is higher then previous 10 year cool outs. Not a single expert out there claims that there is no global warming; only Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck and other morons like that do. |

| Dave Matthews Band – Why I Am Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this song is very criticle to the lack of responsibility our world leaders address. In the middle of critisizing mankind and its leaders for going in the wrong direction he says w/e, We’ll be drinking Big Whiskey while we dance and sing and where my story ends, it’s gonna end with him Heaven or hell, I’m going down with the GrooGrux King. r.i.p. LeRoi. |

| Most powerful song on the entire album. Bears drowning, icicles melting, suns a little brighter today, summers here to stay, dive into the empty ocean... hopefully this song will wake up some sleepy heads and that its taken care of those qualified to take care of it all... all of us. if you cant figure out what this song is about then wake up your sleepy head. | |
| Dave Matthews Band – Time Bomb Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This is certainly about how he views religion as a ticking timb bomb just waiting to explode. I personally feel the same way. Be you Christian, Jewish, Muslim, whatever..."No one would ever know, not till I blew up..." will be due to religious extremism and this song is a parity to that. I think he's aiming things at Christian extremism tbh; that the one who sets the bomb off would be that at this faith and not the popular majority of thinkers pointing the finger toward Muslims or Jews. I'm 100% aithiest so I'm not aiming in any direction in particular as this is only my interpretation. In addition to that, I feel the anger and pain in that tone of Dave's voice and can't help but think that he wants to have faith of some sort so that he has the help to cope with losing LeRoi even though he still can't deal with the death of Anne, his sister; a popular theme to this entire album imo (baby blue). this song is all about disbelief |

This song is about how he wasn't ready to leave the thought of losing his sister "Confess not quite ready to be left" and that pain being revisited by the loss of LeRoi Moore. It's a tribute to two of his most memorable hard times shown through repitition, "You give, you give..," "You made me, you made me..." "Goodbye my love into your blue blue eyes in your blue blue world..." He's letting go of Anne's death so that he can mourn LeRoi. I can relate the need to move on after losing someone close as I never got over a close one that past before. |
