No comments, huh? Well someone's got to change that. This is yet another lyrical gem by Have Heart. To me, I see this song being about letting go of the one you love hard as it may be for you but knowing it's for their benefit and not yours. It's a song that tells us our love should always overrule our selfishness. When I listen to On That Bird In The Cage, I'm reminded of my mother and I. Our relationship is illustrated greatly in this song. She's not ready to let me go, yet I'm struggling from her rule over me to leave while fearing the life I'll lead once on my own. We shed our hippocrisies on each other while holding each other down from what we both want. All in fear. there's a feeling inside me that something's leaving, like someone stealing salt from sea, left me sinking and left me thinking how to keep you caged with me |

| This is song far better than most realize. I bought the album today and burst into tears hearing and reading the words to this song. This is me and the life I've lived they sing of. Hearing this has lifted a weight off of me nothing else ever could at its best. No Roses, No Skies speaks for generations of women and girls who have felt exactly this and never known their true beauty and importance in life. It tell us we are just the opposite of what we've been told by society to believe we are. Beautiful without product, strong without a man, and worthy of the greatest joys in life. Have Heart is one of the true leading forces in Hardcore today. Respect. | |
