this song and crystalised are by far the best on this incredible album.... i love the way it just builds at the end. so great for those days when you're just feeling bad for yourself. pretty sure its about the way you feel after a relationship ends and there was just a little more you wanted to give or try or whatever--you KNOW its over from the way the other party acts but you can't quite get over it yet. the simplicity of the line "sometimes i still need you" just sums it up beautifully. so much goodness. |

i really love when someone makes an interpretation that is completely personal and no one has any idea what to say in response. sorry not really interested in your love life =] anywhooooo love this song. i think that the drug references aren't necessarily about drugs themselves but rather to the way he (or whoever she is talking to in the song) approaches relationships. like yeah, good for you if its what gets you off but its not for me so don't try to use me like a drug anymore. sorry if that doesnt make any senseeeee. just my take. |

| i agree with everyone else about the wwi thing.... he seems to want his lover there but he knows that he can't and is fearful of returning to her and making her life less safe, maybe because of ptsd due to what he saw in war? doesnt stop him from loving her. either way, beautiful song, of course. | |
