sounds like he is falling in love with his best friend/ roommate. the girl he loves doesn't realize that he love her. she flatters and compliments him "stringing him along" and he takes it a different way than what she means. he doesn't want to see her with anyone else "how all that kiss her just seem like puny suitors I can see through, how none will do, no not for you..." but for some reason he can't be "strong" and tell her his feelings. eventually he goes to her room to tell her and loses all self-control |
