Okay, we all know the song is catchy, thanks for stating the obvious and not talking about the MEANING of the song. Do you remember what website this is? It's Songmeanings.net not Myspace. I liked how Furtado Fan37 mentioned Carpe Diem, good job. I think that is very true. Hold on to the good things you have in life, but don't fall into boring routine. (Tired of January, Tired of June. I come from the frozen Tundra so the idea of being tired of both January AND June must refer to some ingrained routine that has become dreadfully boring. People in warmer climates might not get that, but KT is from Scotland so she might.) blue.painted.tears also made a great point. I think, in the end, this song is her advice for how to live a good, happy life. Don't care what others think of you (verse one), Be wise like the old and healthy like the young, and have a pure heart with good intentions (verse 2), hold on to the blessings you have been given (chorus) and don't let your life turn into a routine (what is that called, the bridge? lol.) and H Cool, you are not cool. I have Fergie, KT Tunstall, Rihanna, Joss Stone and Gwen Stafani (old school no doubt) on my MP3 player, there is nothing wrong with that. I happen to LOVE Fergie AND KT Tunstall. That does not make me dumb or tasteless or anything like that, so don't imply that it does. And to say you don't respect most female artists is just plain sexist. Don't be like that. shame. |

First of all, I was totally sad to see SO many comments on the "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" and none on this one. If you hear a song, and like it, explore the artist! I heard Catherine Macphee sing The Black Horse and the Cherry Tree on American Idol, LOVED the song, downloaded all her music, fell in love with KT Tunstall, and everyone else should, too! :-) I am not a very abstract thinker, like KT is, but I see this song as her having second thoughts about a guy after spending one sizzling night with him. A Night like Pepper. Pepper is hot and spicy. But she does not want him to "carry her on his back" like committing to her and dragging her every where with him, like so many couples end up doing with each other. But her inhibitions and precautions are fading, like the light, and if the light in the light house goes out, the ship (him) will crash into the rocks and sink (heartbreak.) Can you still see me? Get it? That's what I think, but I have been addicted to this song, I LOVE singing it with her. lol! |
