I think it is about someone loosing their faith, but it has nothing to do with other people's reactions, its an entirely internal struggle. Hence "the pain that only I can bring". He wants very badly to believe in his religion, but he has realized that it isn't true. "Blindness" signifies blind faith and being ignorant of the truth. "The pain of logic and reason" describes his pain when he realizes his religion isn't true. |
