Saosin – Bury Your Head Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm basing my meaning off of the ALBUM version of this song, and not these lyrics. I think these lyrics were the demo/EP version.

It's for sure about a girl cheating on him. "I could never love the ion vein" - an ion is when a molecule has one too many protons/electrons, so he's saying the relationship has a 3rd person in it. Closed eyes rolled back, couldn't step it up - she rolls her eyes when he asks about it, and she can't step up and just tell him the truth. I could know what to come on to when it's the thought that emerges - Meaning, he knows he's probably right, because it was just a thought that emerged out of nowhere. They stole my lies so write it all - He questions the people she's cheating on him with, and they admit the truth. He's kinda saying "they came up with the same lies as me?" in a sarcastic way. So he's giving up and telling her to write it all, because he's done with it. They have been the ones who've seen enough - even the strangers she cheats with have seen enough. (Maybe)

Owl City – Fireflies Lyrics 15 years ago
Well I've read alot of the comments here. There's some people that seem to think the meaning of this song is WAY more complex than it really is...lol. I agree with the majority of everyone mainly. This guy is an adult now..he has insomnia because of the world's daily stress. Then he starts going on about how when you're a kid, you really DO believe the world turns slowly. But really...nothing is ever how it seems when you're a kid. (As in..getting a 1000 hugs from 10000 fireflies). everyone knows that wouldn't happen in the real world, but you could imagine it as a kid. and if this guy's adult dreams get real bizarre, it's okay because he saved a few of those bugs that teach him how to dance in a little jar! haha. but anyway, that's just his whole thought process as he lays there with insomnia, thinking about how simple and care-free childhood could be.

Ozzy Osbourne – Let Me Hear You Scream Lyrics 15 years ago
Yuuup. And indeed he IS black and bruised/beatup haha.

It's funny how you can't understand a single word of his interviews, but can nearly understand word for word his singing. I believe singing uses a part of the brain other than speaking.

I too think this song is about hitting rock bottom. The song is about how if you hit rock bottom, you'll find your true desire to live. The opening of the song, and several other parts, seem like a guy is attempting to commit suicide by slitting his wrists. But in that same moment, he strikes a nerve, giving him blinding pain. And in his darkest hour, feeling like he thought he never could, he strikes gold.

In one part of the song, he talks about someone being stoned as a punishment for something wrong. Seeing someone get stoned (and not the druggie stoned) makes it easy to become a believer that wrong doing = punishment. But for those with addictive personalities, the TRUE way to get over something, is to hit rock bottom.

3 Doors Down – It's Not My Time Lyrics 15 years ago
Reading through the lyrics again, it's very obvious now the lead singer feels under accomplished, which is pretty sad, because he could be up there with Pearl Jam and stuff if he wanted to.

I look ahead to all the plans that we made
And the dreams that we had
I'm in a world that tries to take them away
Oh, but I'm taking them back
All this time I've just been to blind to understand
What should matter to me
My friend, this life we live
Is not what we have, it's what we believe

He's comparing what he has in life NOW, to what his dreams and goals were as a music artist. It's sadly true we're in a world that tries to take dreams away, but the most inspirational part of this song comes, when he realizes it doesn't matter what he has now, it's about what he believes he still has time to achieve.

I just see this song like the music video does (despite the random parkour! haha). I think it's a song about being able to change your fate. Where like 99% of most people would accept destiny, (possibly the lead singer thinks his time to shine is over?), but decides he really wants to change his fate. It could be translated over to anything though, even life and death.

I also have to say this song serves/served as a HUGE motivation for me in school. I always had motivation issues even though I had life goals. Then I was diagnosed with ADHD lol and put on Adderall. But I love some of the lyrics, like: "Frozen still in front of your own lights." That's exactly how I was with school. Frozen still in all of the negativity I had created for myself, not sure what to do. But listening to this song can really get you going. Gonna stay frozen? Or are you gonna start today and show everyone how you feel? :P And if you don't stop there, you'll make it through and be successful in school and later on in life. God I love this song.

Less Than Jake – A Still Life Franchise Lyrics 15 years ago
Adding to what I said above ---- it might also be about living 3 years of his life in this house, doing unmentionable things, bad things, even though he had good intentions. He felt so bad and angry about those 3 years of his life, that he went and burned down that house. It was just a motionless, useless time in his life that he's saying 'so long' to.

This is a hard one. He obviously burned down his house in this song, when he talks about sparks that spread the flame. Photographs and memories fading away. Smoke filling his lungs. Like he's moving on. But at the same time, he talks about how still and paralyzed his life is. Maybe the song is about how hard it is to move on with your life after reaching a certain point?

Keane – Is It Any Wonder? Lyrics 15 years ago
Most def. about a guy who's only just now realized nothing is left in his relationship with his girl. Is it any wonder that he's tired? Or even feeling betrayed for being led on when the girl was no longer on his side, and just laughing along?

Beneath the Sky – I'll Call This My Own Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is obviously about someone who has given up on believing in the good in people, or believing someone is ALL good without having any bad in them. He had just started to believe there was hope in life to find the good within himself and in other people, but now they see reality, no matter the thousands surrounding them, they will always be alone. No one to trust, nothing to call their own.

Not a feel-good song lol.

Lostprophets – Start Something Lyrics 15 years ago
I believe this song is about motivating you to get off your butt and have your say in life. The lyrics kind of make fun of you and purposely doubt you just to motivate you even more. "They think you'll lose." "Goodbye to you." "It seems so strange that you don't you move. Frozen still in front of your own lights."

And above all, even if you win or lose something, or if you feel like you always seem to lose, you STILL need to have your say, and make your move, otherwise life will pass you by.

Metallica – The Day That Never Comes Lyrics 16 years ago
The song is about forgiveness and resentment, and the lyrics were inspired by a father-son relationship.
