Motion City Soundtrack – Everything Is Alright Lyrics 16 years ago
And idiots that try to put things like OCD, depression, GAD, psychosis, bipolar disorder, drug abuse, ADD/ADHD and all kinds of other stuff into one comment like it's about all of them because they feel the need to be right about it, go away. Don't lump disorders together like that. They have different names, different symptoms, different everything. No one cares if you have any of these disorders, at least not on a website. Christ.

It's obviously about OCD. It has nothing to do with ADD or ADHD. "I'm through with these pills that make me sit still" have nothing to do with an attention deficit disorder, it's about the obsessive checking and moving that someone with obsessive-compulsive disorder has to do to attempt to relieve their anxiety. Hating "theme parks and airplanes, talking with strangers, waiting in line," are all things that make the person anxious, and cleaning the oven and checking tires are compulsions that ease the obsessions that come with the anxiety-arousing stimulus.

And obsessive-compulsive disorder is not something that "comes" with anxiety. Anxiety comes with obsessive-compulsive disorder. Not to say that anxiety doesn't come from other places, but OCD is its own thing. It isn't magically tagged onto GAD.

"Getting better at fighting the future," is getting better at controlling the obsessions, the inevitible future, that will occur if the compulsions are not fulfilled properly. The person is learning to manage their obsessive-compulsive disorder rather than take medication that slows them down.
