I'm probably one of the few who have this certain kind of interpretation of this song but when I listen to this song I imagine, A guy that's in a coma feeling an thinking all of this in his dream state, he knows he might not make it. "The cars are moving, like, a half a mile an hour and I started staring at the passengers who're waving goodbye Can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time" This verse makes me think, "the passangers who're waving goodbye" are his friends and family saying their goodbyes to him. and when he says "can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time" he wants to know why everyone loved and cared about him so much. I know my interpretation isn't exactly correct but that's what I personally feel when I listen. |

Oh this song is pretty good, it basically means There's this teenager and he's sick of his parents controlling his life, he doesn't want to hurt them and he understands that they don't want to hurt them but he can't take it and just wants to get out of that house. Every teen can pretty much relate to this! |

This is one of my favorite Jason Mraz songs, it's so beautifully put together, the music, the lyrics, everything!. I see it being about: He was in this amazing relationship that he couldn't 't put in to words it was like a fairytale. The two of them started having problems, and ended splitting up. He's saying that the love the two of them shared was incredible and will never be forgotten. When he sings; "And it's okay if you had to go away Oh, just remember the telephones well, they work in both ways But if I never ever hear them ring If nothing else I'll think the bells inside Have finally found you someone else and that's okay Cause I'll remember everything you sang" He's telling her it really is fine that they're not together, but to remember he'll always be there for her and even if he never hears for her and she's moved on to someone else it's alright because he knows the love they once had is unforgettable. (: pretty damn sweet song. |

I was wondering what this song meant also, but after reading the lyrics, I think it's about an ex boyfriend talking about his girlfriend constantly being sad and waiting for him to console her and he's saying he can't do it anymore and he's sick of it. |
