| The Strokes – Automatic Stop Lyrics | 15 years ago |

i do believe this song is about homosexuality, and before anyone jumps on me, here's why; he states "it's just a phase, it's got to pass" I've had plenty of friends who have explored being with their own gender for some time. Some people go through phases like that, and it doesn't mean that you're gay or straight, or whatever; you're just exploring. "i wanted you you wanted me... she wanted him he wanted me" he's clearly stuck in a love triangle, while at the same time trying to figure out his orientation. "i know you want to but this is too important" He knows he's probably hurting the other side, but he knows that he has to sort his life before getting involved into anything. also the whole, "didn't understand what to see" Things were clearly fuzzy for him, and he didn't know what to make of them, or who to listen to. so yeah, this is what i think. Of course, there's probably more logical explanations, but just thought I'd put my two cents in. |

| Regina Spektor – School Is Out Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song has such a happy-but-sad at the same time melody. I think its just about someone looking at life from the other side, (when school is out, or when the party is over) You just start to think about all those things you would've otherwise never really thought about (writings on the bathroom wall; Lisa loves Jason, Jason loves Ben) Ha I don;t even think I'm making sense here, but there's also a longing feeling of going back to childhood (teddy bear heaven), with less complicated-ness and trials and tribulations. I dunno, but this son's just amazing. |

| Regina Spektor – Love, You're a Whore Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I agree with margoti; this song refers not to a person, but to love itself. Think about it, we fall into &out of love, loose hope, and gain it, and beat it &mistreat it, as Regina puts it. &still, it catches us off guard at one point or another, and kisses us hard on the mouth. |

| Regina Spektor – Paris Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
To me it speaks about a woman, with some feminist thoughts, perhaps, that wanted to 'settle down'. Until a man came and changed everything, and even though it went against her values, 'Margaret atwood, she could not stop me Virginia Woolf, she could not stop me' she still wanted to go along. 'Sweet, sweet forever I'll comfort myself in my next life' Maybe in her next life, she'll fulfill her feminist views. Meanwhile, she'll enjoy the ride. :) |

This song has so much emotion, it makes my eyes water every time. (In a good way) 'Breathing's just a rhythm' That line gets me every time. :) |

| Regina Spektor – Eet Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Don't get me wrong here, Regina has blossomed beautifully from her singing in cafes days, but I'm just not feeling this song. I feel like the Old Regina has somehow become more mainstream in the Far album. Compared to 11:11, Songs, and Soviet Kitsch this album is the least impressive one. (To me at least) |

| Regina Spektor – Time Is All Around Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I think the 'Time is all around, except inside my clock' part is about how when someone breaks up with you, and they move on really fast, but you can't seem to get over them. Like life goes on around you, but you can't move on. |
