I agree with ttmmll1, its about a dying relationship. He wants to end it, but he can't find a big reason why he wants to end it. Its either because of a bunch of little things she has done, or he just wants to end it. he knows she will be angry and upset with why he does it but he doesn't care he has a right "'Cause I'm not taking the easy way out, Not wrapping this in ribbons, Shouldn't have to give a reason why." I agree with what everyone is saying. It is a break up of a guy who thought he had found the girl, but he is VERY young, and it didn't get far "I miss the words I love, the words, you did not say. I miss the kiss you never gave away." And so he dumps her, but later he realizes, she would have been good for him, but it is too late. So he throws his memories of her away.

I agree with 3xX's interpetation. However I feel the first verse is when the couple first meet. The second verse is how they got to know each other so well. The third verse is the present, when something happens terrible happens to the girl, and she can't hold it back anymore, and lets him in. Then he realizes what 3xX says. Great song, best on the album.

Kanye West is my favorite rapper, and the Fray is my favorite band, so I was soooo happy when the Fray covered them. But Rodeojoneswa is right,Kanye nailed this one. Pure genius, describes breakups perfectly. Kanye's version I see as the guy is pissed that he got dumped, but still has feelings for her, but because of his ego, he hides the feelings. While the Fray's version has the same emotions,in their version, they aren't afraid to let the girl know he still has feelings for her.

For me this song strikes close to home. I feel it is about a guy who jumps around from girl to girl, never completely happy. Meanwhile, he has one of his closest friend's who has supported him, the whole time "She is right in front of you". Fianally he begins to notice her from a romantic perspective, but takes forever thinking it over, trying to decide if she is the one for him,or whether to risk such a great friendship."Looking for the right one, you line up the world to find" But he waits to long trying to decide and she moves on."But she won't keep on waiting for you without a doubt." And though he decided that he wants her, it is too late."Maybe you lost her to another." So for me this song is about not overthinking and sometimes, just go with yur gut feelings. That is sorta what is happening with me. I have a gf, but I found out a longtime friend of mine likes me, and I want her, but I dont want to hurt my gf's feeling's"Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing, are the same."
