I don't agree with the whole TV thing. That's a pretty epic guitar solo for a song about the way TV corrupts us. It just seems out of place. I like Cutsmann's interpretation better. Everything fits together with it.
BTW, my Username is an intentional misspelling of selkie. I mad it when I thought it was pronounced Sell-Kie instead of silky. It still sounds better though. |

As well as the spoken word part, I think Mikeal also helps with the harmony at 3:58. It sounds very similar to the harmony at the end of Opeth's "The Funeral Portrait", which I know for sure is Steve and Mikeal. |

I have a funny memory of this song. Back when I was five I had a little brother who had just been born. As with a lot of babies the sound of the radio helped him sleep. One night me and him were asleep in my room and the radio was on. I had this bizarre dream that I was small, like two inches tall, and I was standing on my family's computer desk. On one side of me was the statue of liberty, and on the other side was a Jack O' Lantern, and they were both singing this song. I woke up and this song was playing on the radio. So that's what I think about whenever I hear this song. |

It's funny, this song also reminds me of a girl I used to like. She was extremely shy, especially around me. I tried to open up to her but she would always get uncomfortable around me. To this day I still don't know why. She's going to be attending a different school next year so I'll probably never see her again. The funny thing is that she's really into Japanese stuff, which I'm not, (The only reason I know of this band is because of that stupid 4chan meme) so I would imagine she likes this band. |
