Manson has stated in interviews that this song was partly inspired by Milton's "Paradise Lost," which is an epic 12-book poem about the fall of Lucifer. "Into the Fire" was also partly inspired by the poem. It is a recurring theme in the album, not being able to have something (in this case love), so you spend your time trying to destroy everyone else's. |
