This song has apparently sparked such a debate, I think I might have a bit of a different interpretation. A friend of mine came up with a theory back when we first heard this song years ago. He thought it was meant to convey how someone can give a speech and get people fired up and excited through the sheer charisma of the performance but when you look deeply into what the speaker is actually saying its complete bullshit. A really charismatic speaker can get people to follow something that is in reality either ridiculous (like a recipe) or something completely vile and evil (like Hitler). |
