tinto, i don't think there is really any way you can say this song is not religious, especially when you listen to other songs from this album, like "Abraham" and "The Transfiguration". this song wouldn't make any sense if he was just talking about some dude. it's not even about wanting this song to be about christianity, because it is so clearly about Jesus. "Tree" actually is synonymous with the cross, it's a pretty common saying. The word is misinterpreted, but is none the less synonymous. but i will admit that when i first heard this song, i assumed it was about a gay dude, but i've realized it's pretty obvious that it's about Jesus. |

| i think that there's this guy that hasn't really grown up, he's still living his life like a rebellious 18 year old, probably trying to make it big as a music star. Now he's older, and needs to get a real job to support his family. no one in society really likes working a 9-5 job, but they do it because thats the reality of life. he can do his thing on the weekend and evenings, but he can't spend his whole life trying to make it big. | |
