Wow, I was just listening to this song earlier in the day, and Decided to listen to it again, and then it hit me, and I almost cried. In my humble opinion, this song is about an old person looking back at her life. Took my love, took it down - periods when she was in love, and then she wasn't Climbed a mountain and I turned around - she lived her life, and then she's looking back at it And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills - she saw an impact that her life made on someone or something, and then the next generation (landslide) took their part. Later, she is talking about a child within her heart - maybe her actual child; will her child grow up to be a person of value? Her child is getting older, and the old person is getting older too, and she doesn't have much time left on this Earth. Amazing song! |

First of all, I can't get enough of this band's riffs, they're groovy as hell, its like Sybreed on steroids. The lyrics are very powerful. It seems the album is about a person'last moments of death, his recollections of all the things he did in life, how he behaved, honesty, morals etc. In this song, I feel like he is being judged by someone (God or himself) about the things he's done in life, was he honest or false, and he has no right to complicate, because good or bad becomes absolute. He may have lied to others, giving excuses, although the judge says all that the person needed was there. The person's wounds that were caused by lying/dishonesty are now closing, as he realizes that everything he needed was already there, or does he? |
