Robert Francis is my best musical discovery since Bon Iver a couple of years ago. Lyrically and vocally this guy is up there with the very best. Theres so much hurt, regret and resignation in this one song and with his voice he carries it of superbly. |

the remix is actually the original. Its called 'One Night' and samples Jose Gonzales' version of Heartbeats. It appears on Example's début release 'We didn't invent the remix' Bootleg.
This song is an expansion of the idea behind that track. They share some lyrics, such as the opening lines and middle verse, while the chorus was written from scratch for this song. |

It has nothing to do with shallowness. Just listening to bands such as Sigur Ros should highlight the fact that lyrics don't need to makes sense or have a literal interpretation to have a meaning.
In some cases it's not about the literal lyrical translation but the emotion they convey with their sound, cadence, alliteration, rythme, rhyme etc. etc. This is one of those cases. I'm not saying they are all bollocks and meaningless but Justin Vernon HAS said in an interview that some words just fit for the above reasons.
