to me, this song is about bittersweet endings. it's about a relationship that is coming to an end, and both parties know it. the singer will always love the girl, even though she loves another person. he loves her so much, he is willing to leave her alone if she asks. he feels betrayed and frustrated with her, but he still can't stop loving her for some reason. he knows that, one day, she will regret leaving him. as she leaves, he is remembers parts of their relationship, both good and bad. this song could have been written about my ex-girlfriend and myself. there was a time when i thought i was in love with someone else, and when it turned out i wasn't, she was there waiting. now the roles are reversed. she's in love with someone else, and i'm left waiting... i know one day she'll regret leaving me, but i don't think i'll be there. |
