This song is very straightforward, it's about a relationship that didn't work, and missing the past. Most melancholy song ever. Every lie is perfect, every line is a heart breaker. "I think i'll be alright" is that painful denial of how you really feel, and "tables they turn sometimes" is that hope you only pretend exists. This is not only my favorite song ever, but the most important song in my life. |

I think Bellyfull of swans said it best. This is probably their most straightforward song. It's about having a rough childhood. Best and most relatable part for me is: "taking heartache with hard work Goddamn, I am such a jerk, I can't do anything" Heartache, self loathing, we all feel it. When i saw them play this live i fell apart and i'm not ashamed. This is my favorite Modest Mouse song and downright one of my favorite songs. |
