Actually, The first verse talks about how, since the death of his 'Juliet', people have been telling him that he will die alone because he murdered her, "finger on the trigger to my dear juliet", and so other girls will stay away from him and he won't get another girlfriend, and therefore no kids, that will be there by his side while he dies. Then he probably told his enemies or whatever that he has actually mourned and cried over his girlfriend's death, since he can't forget it, "this blood on my hands...yeah", and so they probably replied saying, "How does it feel when tears freeze when you cry", implying that he is nevertheless so cold-hearted that when he cries, even his tears freeze. And that all really hurt him. the rest is yeah |

This song is good. The lyrics are explicitly written as well, so no need really for a discussion on what this song means. It's a really good song, the drums and everything are perfect. What i don't like is when they sing it live many times they fuck it up because they get some bi chick to come up and sit next to them and then they kind of devote this song to her lol when the lyrics just fit so much better with a guy. Yes, i know Jess is bi but still, she should get the guys instead because it's just like that. The essence of the song and their voices and everything just screams 'REALLY NICE GUY'. By the way, it's meant to be, 'Because you listen to me when I'm depressed', not, 'You kiss me listen to me when I'm depressed'. |

When i first heard this song about two years ago, my interpretation of it was remembering the friends you used to hang out with a long long time ago and how you don't keep in touch anymore but you still remember the good times in both a happy and sad manner and hope that the stars, which can either be referencing God or someone else, or that since they are the only things that are kind of 'close' to your friends, are kind of looking after and watching over them. The rest of the lyrics are explicitly written, except for the line, 'And it used to feel like dreamin', except we always woke up', which i think is a kind of poor attempt at implying that the times they spent together were so amazing that it was like a dream but they actually took most of their times together for granted (except we always woke up). But yeah it can be taken as someone who has died and all that, but at the moment i prefer friends. In my opinion, it also has one of the best melodies ever created and the singer really knows how to tie it all in, i mean the way the guitaring and the keyboards have been used create an extremely sad atmosphere. One of the best songs ever |

In my opinion, this song has one of the best melodies ever created, though i don't really see how the first verse relates to any of the later lyrics because apparently this is meant to be about murdering a loved one, not enemies or dying alone, although the line, 'How does it feel when tears freeze, when you cry?', does spark some idea about someone being so cold-hearted and mean, which i suppose is an implicit description of this girl. So I think it's just a bunch of words to get across the first part of the melody but it's good anyway and Ronnie manages to kind of fit it in with the lyrics through his emotion displayed in that part in the video. The rest of the song, however, is really well put and it seems to reference Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, which creates a nice atmosphere for how the song is set up and the video and everything. Excellent song. |
