i think that people can't understand how someone can write these songs and that in order to write such incredibly sad and melancholic songs - you have to be high they cant believe that someone can be so human and still be untouchable or maybe they're just far too inhuman to understand |

the first time i listened to this was when i was told he had died we had his latest album and we played it in the record store and i think i speak for everyone in the room at the time but we all wanted to literally scratch out eyes out to make us feel less hopeless someone turned it up really loud and someone screamed it was so surreal it might have been yesterday or it feels that way |

humans get high and they get turned on and sad but they look to other people and other things to make them feel this way, whatever john was feeling wasn't towards people but in the world around him, and that love is found not in other people but in yourself, love is ageless, and will carry on when you die. maybe that's hard to accept... it's something boundless whereas humans have boundaries at every single moment of their lives since the day they're born to the day they die maybe john felt alive when he was alone . |
