NOFX – Franco Un-American Lyrics 14 years ago
Pretty sure each verse, shows a transition of maturity and knowledge. The first (2) verses are about the starting point of most Americans, take the last line of the second verse "Outside of California it's foreign policy" we're so damn concerned about ourselves, so apathetic to the outside world we refuse to accept the outside world and all the problems going on.

The last 2 verses are about how when you read something like Howard Zinn and realize how shitty the rest of the world is you transition and learn more. And the more you know the more you revolutionize. Take the verse that goes "I never looked around, never second-guessed. Then I read some Howard Zinn now I'm always depressed And now I can't sleep from years of apathy All because I read a little Noam Chomsky" It's describing how after reading Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky it's hard to accept just how apathetic and uncaring one was before.

NOFX – Franco Un-American Lyrics 15 years ago
It's a sarcastic question. "Why help with an 'am' when there's always a 'could'?" It's pointing out that Americans, instead of doing something (I AM doing something), they say they could or should help (I COULD do something) and then proceed with their lives like nothing happened.

Green Day – American Eulogy: A. Mass Hysteria/B. Modern World Lyrics 16 years ago
The first part Mass Hysteria is talking about the falling of the American society as Anarchy takes its slow grasp around us. Then Part B. Modern World is just talking about how the modern world os to concerned about such petty bullshit and that He doesn't want a part of it.

Green Day – Know Your Enemy Lyrics 16 years ago
You People are all idiots this whole album covering "Christian" (Billie Joe Armstrong) and "Gloria" (His wife Adrienne) This song is a homage to the Punk music he listened to as a kid. It also is a song to get the punk feeling back to rise up and question the society and the "Normal"

Green Day – 21st Century Breakdown Lyrics 16 years ago
You people are complete idiots this song isn't about Anti-war, Anti-America, or about the album. (it's only partly a concept album) This song in it's self is about Billie Joe Armstrong who was born in 1972 (hence the born into Nixon) the song talks about how he was born the youngest of six kids into an era after the Hippies and rebels and was raised by his parents who were fifties Teamsters. The song also explians the part of his life where his father died (sat in a waiting room) and when his mother married a man everyone hated (I was once lost but never was found) the song also talks about that kids of the class of 2013 who would be born around the mid 1990's have to deal with the problems about the 21st century when the 1990's were good.
