I think I've got something. The woman in the doorway could possibly be a diviner who tells him how to summon the ghosts through a seance. What do you guys think? |

Disaster's point is an interesting interpretation. "I summon wife, child, and happiness" seems to strongly suggests a seance to me. Him killing his family makes sense given some lines that would be ambiguous otherwise, but the first verse seems to carry too much affection for the wife and Shiola for that to be the case. But I could be wrong. Madness dodges logic.
Didn't the band post up the stories behind every song at some point? Does anyone know where that could be found? |

That's an interesting idea. I kind of hit a wall with the typewriter imagery, but I interpreted this song as contrasting the make-believe battles we have for fun as kids, making trenches out of furniture and using cutlery as firearms to actual wars. I see this song as comparing the two and showing us that war is just as silly and absurd. |
