I believe this song talks about a relationship that comes to an end. "Under the stairs" symbolizes the girls downfall. She starts doing things she normally wouldn't do. She feels like no one cares for her anymore. She is hiding from her self, closing her self in from everything.. "You won't be laughing when im dead" Meaning that he won't be happy when he sees that shes dead of emotions, not actually dead. She tells him to go blame someone else, and not her for her situation, firstly because he is the one who brought her to that situation and secondly because she is hiding from her self. She knows it is partially her fault for becoming something she is not, but she can't help it, can't escape from it, he is the only one who can save her from her self - that's why she will wait for him.. |

I think this song is about a girl who sleeps around with other men just to forget Alejandro possibly her biggest love. She really doesn't care about all the other men but only about Alejandro. She doesn't want to be there for him only when he remembers her excistance and tryes to contact her only for one night. She is no ones "baby", no one ownes her, she is indeppendent and does whatever she likes, sleeps with who ever she likes, but her mind and heart are Alejandro's. By sleeping with random people she is trying to bury her love and forget Alexandro. |

I definately believe this song reffers to a relationship that went sour. In my oppinion when they broke up, somwhere deep inside her she wanted to apologise to him (even if she did nothing bad, thats the ghost part), just to get him back and be toghether again but her head refuses to do so. After some time she just sees him drinking alone. Seems like he saw the mistake he made and now is alone, however she has moved on so there is nothing more to be said or done between them. |

I believe that this song reffers to a woman who uses men as 'toys' and sees them as nothing more. Next phase, next craze, next nothing new. - She is used to doing this often,using bous and men as her personal private 'toys', and just tosses them away when she's bored of them. Got the pretty boy beat him up black and blue. Broke the sissy boy's teeny toy heart in two. - first line is metaphorical where as the second line she does say that she breaks the hearts of the men she 'plays' with. Turned him into a video kid like you. - Those men turn to themselves after suffering from the emotional pain she caused, Turning themselves to behave like Video game - obsessed children. I know you're just pretending. - Here she means that some of those men only pretend to love her, or thats what she thinks. ( Im guessing she acts like she does because someone 'broke' her like she breaks the hearts of men in revenge (?) There's no window for escape. I know you see right through me. There's no promise left to break. - In the end the men can see whats coming for them, but they choose to stick around hoping they are mistaken. Shot the pretty boy killed him on commodore. -She is done 'playing' around with this dude obviously (The shooting thing is clearly metaphorical) Need a new game, need a new something more. Got a new face got a new way to score. - She is searching for a new 'victim' to pass her time with. play with, and break his heart too. Got a voice like something I've heard before. - When she finds her new 'victim' what she says to him when breaking up with him, seems familliar to her, since she uses those words quite frequently The message misleading. - The game she plays with her 'victims' We're lying, we're cheating. -She is reffering to all the ruthless women out there that act like she does, just for personal pleasure. Amazing song by Nevermore, one of my favourites actually. I think it speaks about, how he dreams about his other half that he loves and imagines the exact minute that she will come and "save" him from the darkness he has fallen into after they split ways. Imo the song can reffer to a break up and the pain that one feels in him, or death and the emotions of grief/pain/loss. This song is about a relationship that is comming to an end. "It's hard to know when to give up the fight Two things you want will just never be right It's never rained like it has tonight before" In this verse of the song (witch really appeals to me) she explains that sometimes you just have to let it go, as much as you love that person, and admit to your self that it has come to an end. Even if its hard to admit it to your self its better than living in a dream. It will hurt your hard knowing that everything won't be the same for a long period of time and maybe never again. The title "Rain" could also be metaphorically reffering to the tears she's shed for her lover when they had to eventually part ways, maybe because love wasn't enough, that is what I get from this verse "Now I don't want to beg you baby For something maybe you could never give" Truly a very honest and simple way that she tells him that the love she gives him overcomes the love she gets from him.. In this part of the song "I'm not looking for the rest of your life I just want another chance to live" She states that she knew it would end at sometime but since she loves him so mutch she is trying so hard to move on in her life and let this in the past, so she seeks another chance to live, maybe another chance to feel like she did with him. But its really hard for her to let go of him even though she knows she has to. I love this song and just like others that posted above me, I can listen to this song on loop for hours and hours without getting bored of it. |
