Hmmm... One thing I have noticed on the Bad Religion songs is that you people seem to think that fundamentalist republican American Christians are the only type. If you did some research you'd find Christianity has a long history in many countries outside the West i.e Egypt, Armenia, Ethiopa, Russia, China etc. Also many counter cultural Christian denominations, churches and individuals have and still do exist. You can't look at some crappy televangilist and say "That's what all Christians are like". Otherwise you might as well say every black man on the planet is part of the bloods or crips. Ok I like this song but seriously. At least all the people they complain about are trying to make things better. If nobody ever had ideals and just accepted we can't change things then we'd all still be living as peasants and slaves under an absolute monarch. I think the point is we should all fight for change but concentrate on small changes like stuff in our communities. If we all did that then the combined effect might very well be world changing. |

OK when i said suicidal people deserve compassion I wasnt refering to high school emos but actual suicidal people (they do exist you know) and they're not always just cowards they may have mental illness or they may have been raped and abused. As for God if he doen't exist then where did everthing come from. Many philosphers and scientists have actually stated the level of organisation in the natural world points to God (including Einstein and Newton). Also how do you explain the origin of Christianity after all the first Christians including the original disciples were relentlessly persecuted and often executed for their faith. Why would they go through that for something they made up. Also stop complaining how bad religion is for the world. Many charities are christian based. Christianity has helped many people conquer addiction or cope with stress. Also tertiary eductaion originalyy emerged from Christianity as did science and philosophy and some of histories greatest literature art and architeture.
