Devotchka – How It Ends Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm rather certain that the song speaks to a dying person, who is finally certain of eternal happiness after death. All that's left is for that dying someone to remain strong to the end, for the sake of his/her loved ones.

Gorgeous song, though I must say it sounds less hopeful, and more like although a sad end has finally come, the truth and the light at the end of the tunnel will let this person pass peacefully.

Insane Clown Posse – Miracles Lyrics 15 years ago
@ tdog69: You have a point in saying that ICP is trying to point out the sheer scale and awe in the world around us. However, notice that they say they want to ignore scientists, who apparently piss them off. Simply by mentioning those two lines, ICP makes their entire statement in this song null and void; they point out that science isn't where it's at. Not only does that inspire countless young listeners/juggalos to shun and depreciate science (maybe ICP doesn't want to feel like they're alone in lacking any education), it also inspires practices which are unhealthy by telling listeners to turn away from what scientists tell them (and for many, scientists include health professionals in lab coats). So really this song is absolutely contradictory; ICP speaks of the wonder about them, yet sends a strong message against consciousness of the one thing that creates that wonder and can perpetuate it: science.

I really don't like these guys (ICP). I'm sorry if I'm being a hater, I just wish people would listen to something more worthwhile. But answer me this: is ICP creating positive, inspirational, intelligent art, or are they simply trying to create sound with words?

Regina Spektor – Edit Lyrics 16 years ago
Actually, the song seems to refer to the writing ability of her past boyfriend, who is the lead singer of the Strokes. Obviously, The Strokes have yet to release a true "masterpiece," which would require exquisite editing, and yet the band is quite popular. Spektor is probably referring to his overconfidence which likely came with the popularity of the band, a reason for which she likely broke up with him. Basically this is just a bitch-slap to the face for the dude.
